Office of Leadership, Service & Career
Brian O’Bruba serves as Executive Director for the Office of Leadership, Service, and Career. He has broad leadership responsibility for numerous university operations affecting students outside the classroom, including career readiness, on and off-campus internships, student leadership development, community engagement, and basic needs services. Brian serves on the executive leadership team for the Division of Student Affairs and provides leadership on issues affecting student success and engagement.
O’Bruba, originally from Philadelphia, PA, received his B.S. in Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and completed his Master’s degree in Higher Education Counseling/Student Affairs at West Chester University. Brian has worked at UC Merced since 2010. He is passionate about promoting student development and fostering student learning outside of the classroom
