All Student Affairs End of the Year Meeting - Student Affairs Awards

 

Four Aspirational Principles

This year, Student Affairs will honor through it’s annual awards, individuals and/or units who have embraced one of the four aspirational principles: Inclusive, Transformational, Nimble and Impact. Nominators are encouraged to access this link to the Division of Student Affairs mission, vision, strategic initiatives and guiding principles in support of the nomination process. 

Inclusive Award

Awarded to an individual and/or unit that has championed and celebrated the diverse community of the campus and region through innovative outreach, awareness programs and advocacy.  Through efforts, the individual or unit has created conditions for excellence with the entire campus community, has expanded learning opportunities through partnerships, collaboration and esprit de corps, or has maintained a sustainable community that is environmentally and socially conscious.

Transformational Award

Awarded to an individual and/or unit that has created a highly personalized environment, keeping students at the center and at the forefront of decision-making.  Through individual or unit efforts, has promoted student success, learning and retention through the (holistic) intellectual, physical, psychological, career, social and spiritual development of students, has created Bobcat identity and pride for our central valley community, has supported intellectual, professional and personal development for lifelong learning and careers in a dynamic, global society.

Nimble Award

Awarded to the individual and/or unit that has promoted operational efficiency and effectiveness through the consolidation of services, unconventional partnerships and integration of new technologies, who is strategically positioned and ready to act.  The individual or unit has demonstrated the ability to meet the emerging needs of our students, faculty, staff and community and balanced needs through personalized service.

Impact Award

Awarded to the individual and/or unit that has continuously strived to deliver programs and services with pride and distinction.  The individual or unit uses research data, assessment results/findings to develop and refine programs and services, aggressively sought to increase grants, donations and resources to further campus initiatives, or supported efforts to publish and “tell our stories” through qualitative and quantitative data.

The Student Affairs Excellence Award

Awarded to the unit within the Division of Student Affairs that has demonstrated outstanding efforts over the past academic year.  These efforts reflect a commitment to our values, mission, our collective goal of student success and our guiding principles of nimble, impact, transformation, and inclusive.

Award recipients will be announced at the All Student Affairs End of the Year Meeting, Tuesday May 28th, 5:30 - 8:30pm, at the Vista Ranch. Vista Ranch, 7326 East Highway 140, Merced CA 95340.

Awards Selection Criteria

Inclusive

The selected unit or nominee will demonstrate the following:

  1. Celebrated diversity through innovative outreach, awareness, and/or advocacy.
  2. Created conditions for excellence with the entire campus community.
  3. Expanded learning opportunities through partnerships, collaboration, and/or esprit de corps.
  4. Maintained an environmentally and socially conscious community.

 

Transformational

The selected unit or nominee will demonstrate the following:

  3. Demonstrated ability to meet the emerging needs of the students, faculty, staff, and community.
  4. Demonstrated ability to balance needs through personalized service.

The selected unit or nominee will demonstrate the following:

  1. Continuously strived to deliver programs and services with pride and distinction.
  2. Uses research data, assessment results/findings to develop and refine programs/services.
