Response to Off-Campus Shooting
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
We have learned about an off-campus incident in downtown Merced early this morning involving three of our students. Two students, Robert Justin Manalo and Ian Buczko, suffered gunshot wounds that were not life-threatening. The third student, Arian Faurtosh, was unharmed.
We are relieved to know the students are safe and recovering from the incident.
We encourage anyone with information about this incident to contact the Merced Police Department Detectives Division at 209-385-4702 or the Tip-Line at 209-385-4725. Tips can also be texted to TIP411 (847411), using "comvip" as the first word in the body of the message.
We encourage all members of the campus community to be always aware of their surroundings and, when possible, to avoid situations that could potentially become dangerous.
