Commitment to Black Excellence 2020-2021

Black lives always matter. They matter at UC Merced. They matter across our nation. They matter around theworld. UC Merced is fully committed to work on ending the conditions that create injustice, conditions that are leaving our Black community dehumanized and their innocent lives taken. The enduring legacy of slavery, segregation, racism and oppression in America must be confronted and addressed systemically. This is NOT a moment. This is a MOVEMENT. Thus, the university has highlighted immediate (summer 2020), short-term (2020-2021), and long-term (2021+) plans to address the submitted proposals.
