Amy Sekhon Atwal

Dr. Sekhon Atwal currently serves as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Health and Well-Being at UC Merced. In her role, she oversees several departments that offer services to support the well-being of students and employees while contributing towards a campus wide culture of wellness. Her current portfolio includes Student Health Services, Counseling & Psychological Services, Health Promotion, Occupational Health and Campus Advocacy, Resources & Education. Dr. Sekhon Atwal has been involved in collegiate health and wellness for 13 years, having previously served as the Associate Medical Director at UC Davis. She has also served as an intercollegiate team physician for UC Davis and UC Berkeley, as well as a Volunteer Assistant Clinical Professor at UC Davis Health System.

Dr. Sekhon Atwal completed her Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at UC Davis Health System/UC Berkeley Sports Medicine, after completing her Family & Community Medicine Residency Program at the University of California Davis Medical Center. She obtained her M.D. from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and her M.S. in Kinesiology and B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of California, Davis. In her spare time, Dr. Sekhon Atwal enjoys outdoor activities, coaching youth sports and spending time with family and friends.
